S4 Firmware?

I was wondering whether it’s possible to upgrade the s4 firmware in a similar way to the vci-100 and 400 can be upgraded?
It’d be pretty interesting as the number of things you could do mapping wise would be pretty sick.
I did search but couldn’t find anything. If there is a thread just send it my way so I can give it a read!

It is possible to upgrade the firmware, but so far only NI can do it. As far as the 400 goes I get the impression that only Vestax can do it now.

Yeah. NI is the only person who can upgrade your firmware. I’ve never heard of anyone doing it though. is this common?
