Long story short, lots of monetary presents later, I have enough to either buy an S4, or an NS6 for 20 bucks more with price matching and GuitarCenter Promosā¦
Which one should I get?
Iām going there in about 3 hours so it would be helpful!
Thanks Guys!
Iām pro-Numark, so I vote NS6.
Iāve seen too many forum post which describe the S4 as problematic and not the ideal controller.
I Own a Mixdexk from Numark and love it, the NS6 should be great!
Good luck, let the forum know which one you eventually got
Numark sucks, and they have horrible customer service if it were to break.
i sent in my old Numark Mixdeck for warranty replacement.. they said 4 weeks. theyāve had it for 3 months. i ended up having to send a strongly worded email to the head of their warranty department to get a response (since they donāt answer their damned phones) and he replied that he was very sorry and that he authorized for a replacement and they are out of stock blahblahblah, long story short: i had to be an ass (in an acceptable way) to get anything done and its too much of a hassle. they have lost all my business.
go with the S4. wtf are these people doing leading you the wrong way D:
Shop smart, donāt rush in to get something you might regret later. There isnāt really any info on what is your mixing style is, if you already own any gear or if you have a Traktor/Serato preference so it narrows down to what WE would get.
Iāve spent a good amount of time with each unit. As far as build quality⦠definitly the NS6 by a longshot, but its also a lot heavier.. I personally like Traktor over Itch when it comes to FX and creative capabilities. However, the stacked waveforms are unparalleled in itch, and makes quick visual mixing a breeze. That being said, the NS6 has a much better āfeelā than the S4, in my opinion, but limits you to the basics of mixing, which has its proās and conās depending on your personal style. With the S4 you can do anything from basic, essential EQ mixing to complex multi-layered effects. With the NS6 you will be able to do all of your baisc mixes, with some FX, and hacve access to very very responsive platters that feel great (if scratching is your thing I would get the NS6). The S4 however is lighter, which is important if you are taking it to a new club. My vote is the S4, cheaper, and you get traktor, which is way better than itch (except for the waveforms), especially if you want to get creative or use other controllers in the future in combination with your main kit.
They are both 4 channel mixers, with touch sensitive platters. S4 has more creative possibilities and FX, and the NS6 has more basic controls, with a better crossfader for scratch DJs.
Just my opinion from my own experience⦠hope that helps!
