S4 Xone EQ

S4 Xone EQ

Does anyone use the Xone EQ type with the mid/low and mid/high eqs and which knob do you use to control the extra mid .

Cheers Neil

Does anyone use the Xone EQ ?

I would like to see someone respond to this too. If not I will go back to the Oracle

The s4 isn’t made for that. Most logical answer would be to use the filter knobs (why are you asking that, there aren’t many knobs on the s4…). But you can’t really do it with the embedded mapping as you won’t be able to block the movement of the filter knobs to control the filter (unless you block it to a defined value (or you can cumulate both mids on the mid knobs, but that’s a ‘meh’ solution, what’s the point if you want to use the xone eq?). Otherwise you drop the native mapping and make a custom one either in HID mode or midi mode (using all 3 knobs and filter knobs for the Xone Eq and use the jogwheel to control the filter for a given deck).

Cheers for the reply , will go back to one of the other eqs not got to the stage where I can do the mapping.

I have it mapped so both mids are attached to the mid knob. The reason I chose the Xone EQ is because when you drop the bass the mids sound much cleaner than the Ecler EQ. With the others some of the mid bass drops when you turn the lows down. I prefer a nice punchy sound when I’m in the mix.

can u tell me how to do it . cheers neil

I will try and post up a TSI laster tonight.

Bigbeatzz when will you post the tsi for the Xone EQ , cheers Neil

I was looking to do something similar to this, but I wanted to use the filter knob as the LOW knob and something like shift+gain for the filter. Right now I’m using the P600 mixer option and setting the filter to drop out the sub bass.

I’ve played with a light custom mapping for the EQ and prefer the Xone over the other ones. If anyone finds a way to make a custom TSI using the filter knob as the LOW and everything displayed and used normally, please post.

you can’t with the native mapping as it’s not possible to block the movement of the filter if using those knobs unless you block it with a defined value (not something that makes sense).

Well, I mean if someone could remap everything to it’s default setting and just mapped the filter to be a LOW. I’ve tried this but I can’t get the LEDs to display properly or the GAIN to be the filter.

Also, I wanted to set it so when shit+GAIN CLICK turned the filter on and off, so theoretically I could have the filter parameter set and be able to come in and out of it.

You need a full user mapping, dropping the native one but you’ll loose a lot of led feedback and functions as you can’t recreate all with a custom mapping.

Bass Down Low TSI

Here is the mapping I made, it’s super simple. Just put your eq in xone mode in the settings.

Then go to:

1 - controller manager
2 - add
3 - import
4 - enjoy

The mid knob now controls mid and low mid. You may not notice the difference but I have excellent monitors and the difference is very noticeable.

Just downloaded the TSI, I’ll give a run through when I get home tonight.

Cool, like I said it’s super basic but allows you to utilize the xone eq and still retain the filter.

Edit: POST 700.

Can you also map it so I can use the filter as the LOW? I don’t really use the filter anyway.. plus I could theoretically just set the filter on one of the FX panes.

If you search around I think you’ll find one that’s done already. To be honest, I really don’t have the time to map it. I just posted this one to share.

Will down load this later and give it a go cheers . Neil

it work great i try it last night @ the club what a difference thanks
