(to skip the rant skip to the part past the line)
i love people who suck at mixing and think their hot sh*t
for example they hit the sync button and assume the beat grid is right
and they dont know how to fix it
and they dont notice…/ they cant tell…
i have to spend 2 days with my prime example on a mini vacation after driving 200 miles (longest ive driven in one shot) with my two younger than 10 years old brothers in the back seat…who never stop making noise…
sigh
this should be fun.
oh and i may or may not be mute for the weekend because this kid (my example) will be floating around me all the time, and although he has found DJTT he didnt notice the forum… (i dont want this to sound bad but: thank god.) i dont like people seeing what i post in places like this. (and theres another reason, but i dont want to sound like an ass)
so, what are you doing this weekend/ what do you hate having to do with people you can just barely tolerate
this is an awesome resource for people to learn from. i know this site has made me the DJ i am today. and people say i’m pretty good. i owe it to these forums, these people.
but at the same time if he doesn’t really care about what DJing is, then there’s really not a reason for him to be here.
what i´ve done tonight (friday): been to sweet club seing some frineds of mine spinning tech house. after that i went to see mala a.k.a. godfather of dubstep doing his job damn well. and after that i went to see fritz kalkbrenner spinning. and after that i went home
what i will do tomorow (saturday): recovering, relaxing, cleaning the flat and maybe party
Well... Here we go, daytime we're going to my parents in law. They're an hours drive away, so that should be clean fun with 'all the snow involved'.
Driving back to the west
Going to Daniel's place, organizing tracks and live setup for next week's gig.
Gig is called 'Heroes of techno', so I gather some awesome 'Berlin techno', some oldschool techno (2000 to 2004) and also some cool live performance VSTs.
Enjoying time with the family and recovering.
Saturday: I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to shoot a high school football game. At least it’s a daylight game so the pictures should be pretty good and I’ll be done pretty quick. I’m on the clock all day, but that’s the only thing on the schedule so unless something blows up I’ll be digging for Monday’s show for most of the day. I’ve got about 50 tracks lined up in Beatport that I’m cycling through now and after 20 minutes so far haven’t clicked buy yet.
Sunday: More digging and some cleaning. I really need to replace a fork seal on the motorcycle. Maybe work on mapping the X1 some more.
Monday: (I’m working today so Monday is part of my weekend) nothing, nothing, two hour radio show, nothing, work on mapping the X1 some more, cruise thrift shops, pick #1 son up from school, dig, figure out what’s for dinner, cook dinner, dig, grid some tracks, watch Hawaii Five-O, go to bed.
today I dj a basketball game, then drive an hour and a half to my residency and spin there tonight, then drive 30 mins away from there to my buddy’s house to sleep, then sunday drive to my girls house which is another hour away from my boy’s crib. then another hour and a half back home monday to dj another basketball game. all in the snow
I’ve been sick since the middle of the week. Went and saw Nero on Wednesday night, and then Edward Oberon on Thursday night. Ever since that though, it seems as though my skull has been run over by a steamroller, and they are pouring hot tar down my throat.
The weekend though? Worked 7AM-10PM yesterday (two jobs), and working 2pm-10pm today. I have Monday off. Woo?
I had a private event for my business fraternity last night
did a 5 hour set (9pm - 2 am). That is the longest set I have ever done. Sitting after that was a blessing.
It was some 100+ ppl in some old place we rented out that looked like it was a brothel in another life, perfect plae for doing shady business. It was nice, didnt get a break or drink at all though(other than water of course) tried to quikly run to the bathroom several, several times but there was only a line and i ad to get back to mixing in the next song.
Today I woke up at 4 in the afternoon after going to sleep at like 4 (I was up at 7 AM yesterday, so in total i was up some 20 hours with only 3 hours of sleep the night before)
Now i am working on finishing up the last few assignments to an online class.
