Saving the original firmware before update
Hello all,
I was wondering if the Renesas software used to update the firmware is capable of reading the flash memory area of the chip. What I want to do is save the original firmware before going to the 1.3 firmware. Has anyone tried this?

there is some trick switching the vci on with the 1.2 firmware. ean explained this in a video, just don’t ask me which one 
Yep, FW 1.3 includes FW 1.2. So there really isn’t a good reason to save the FW 1.2 - unless you plan jumping back completely to FW 1.2 without the option of using 1.3.
