Send multiple messages with Bome's

Send multiple messages with Bome’s

Is it possible to send multiple messages with Bome’s MIDI Translator?

For example:

  1. VCI sends note X to Bome’s
  2. Bome’s receives note X, sends it to Traktor and sends notes A, B, C to VCI

Is it possible?
How can I do that?

Thank You.

Yup, but ur gonna be there forever! I suggest looking around the forum and Ean’s youtube post.

I’ve searched in the forum, but I haven’ t found the solution…

Is there any Bome’s guru around?

Only one answer possible for that fcarsana:

BENTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There are a bunch of ways to do this. It would probably be easiest to set a timer.

Make one translator that takes the incoming MIDI message and activates a timer. Make the timer 0ms. Then make a translator to send data to traktor. Use the timer as your incoming trigger and send the midi out to the app. Make another translator to send your feedback messages to the VCI.

Thank you!

I’ll try it…

What I want to do is a “simple” mapping in bome’s to manage in the right way the filter and fx lights in VCISE…
So if the user push the filter button A, bome send this to traktor and send to VCI the following messages:

  • turn on deck A filter light
  • turn off deck A fx lights
and viceversa for fx lights, pushing deck A fx light 1:
  • turn off deck A filter light
  • turn on deck A fx light 1
  • turn off deck A fx light 2

I think this is possible…
But this is the first time for me using Bome’s…

One question:

You know you are able to send out multiple MIDI messages with one control right?

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand…

It is possible to send out multiple commands in Traktor itself.

For instance, you could map it as that the push of one button cue starts, and syncs a track automatically. (Just an example)

… so, if I push the filter button, could I send two or more different output signals to light on/off VCI leds?

By the way, I don’t think this is the correct solution, because all the VCISE buttons used to engage an effect are always mapped to “Effect Buton 1” and it’s impossible to know what button has been pressed and so which leds turn on/off…

Simple. Just set the output value to write several notes or CCs at once each one going to a different MIDI channel, e.g. output:

90 aa 7f 93 bb 7f 93 67 00 B3 13 3c

will send:

90 aa 7f - NoteOn, channel 0, note aa (calculated), velocity 127 (fully on)
93 bb 7f - NoteOn, channel 3, note bb (calculated), velocity 127 (fully on)
93 67 00 - NoteOn, channel 3, note 103, velocity 00 (effectively a NoteOff)
B3 13 3c - ControlChange, channel 3, controller 19, value 60

The best way to have Bomes wired up is to have a couple of connections going
VCI → Bomes → Traktor

then for traktors midi out’

Traktor → Bomes → VCI

However… This is really difficult to do with the current version of Bomes. Luckily this has been fixed in the next edition that i am quite excited about. Its going to make it ALOT easier for me to share translations with you guys !!

How can I do that?
Could I use a virtual midi cable?
Is there a virtual midi cable routing program?

Lol dont even worry about it, just wait for the next edition to become availible - trust me its a head ache and a complete pain in the butt to explain how to do!

However i wont let you go away empty handed…
How i got it to work is by having the different source ins and different paths out of bomes run on different midi channels. I then use Midi-Ox to process the midi again and it will split the different channels up to their different devices.

The next version of Bomes will make this a hell of alot easier, personally would just wait for the next version to come out.

Midi-Ox is the virtual audio cable routing program

Ok!

I’ll try MIDI-OX…

Thank You!

No problem and good luck

With the next version of Bomes we wont need midi-ox at all which is kinda nice, i can get rid of another program out of my setup.
