Yeah, if I am going to use Serato (which I do) I sure as hell am going to take advantage of how quick I can look up a song with my keyboard. Seems kind of stupid not just because you don’t want to touch your laptop.
Think Seth Troxler on there who was using Traktor. To be fair though, I’ve seen a lot more DJs doing this with Serato than Traktor; Traktor DJs tend to do song selection more often with a midi controller in my experience.
Yeah it stands to reason that a lot more serato users would use this as they are less likely to have a midi controller with browse control. I reckon anyone that performs with a laptop does this at points.
Even with traktor and midi controler for track selection you have to look at the screen to know what song to choose.

Truth, not even sure why this would be an argument. You dig in your crate if you’re spinning vinyl, you flip through your CD wallet if you play CDs, you browse through your USB stick if you’re using that.
