Setting up an S4 FAQ?

Been seeing an awful lot of the same questions about the S4 cropping up time and time again. Have also been seeing conflicting answers from numerous users. Would the S4 Grandmasters on this board be up for participating in an FAQ? I might even suggest we use a Wordpress site or something so that resulting responses and additional questions don’t clog up the thread.

I think this will help people looking for help find answers more easily and enable the board to be a little less of a proxy tech/sales support area.

I agree it’s an amazing resource but I am not sure it’s going to be the answer.

Rainer usually puts a teaser(section of the book) or two out for free on the site, but not sure if he’ll cover the basics or something more advanced. Especially since he already has S4 info on the site now. It’ll probably be Pro2 sections now that I think about it. (old guy thinking out loud)

Anyway, If we do a FAQ, we should just have one person compile it and make a sticky in this forum with the ability to post in it disabled. That way after reading the FAQ if they still need help they can post a thread.

No matter what you do, there will always be newb questions in the forum, and in the wrong sub forum 1/2 the time, but that’s ok. We were all newbs once or twice.

  1. Did you search the entire manual for the answer to your question first?
    If your answer is no, then RTFM:slight_smile:
    If your answer is yes then continue to part 2

  2. Did you use the search function for the S4 or Mapping sub forums on DJTT, the S4 and Traktor Forums at NI, and the DJTT Blog?
    If your answer is no, then get to searching.
    If your answer is yes then continue to part 3

  3. Have you bought the Traktor Bible?
    If your answer is no, the go to thetraktorbible.com, check out all the usefull info, mappings, etc. Then buy it and read it.
    If your answer is yes then continue to part 4

  4. By now you are an expert so start answering some newbies questions on the forum, and be nice:smiley:
