Setting

Hi all my name is DJ Nicki, i’m an old school dj and been using Traktor since 2012 along with Krontrol S2 and also a numark 4trk. my question is: what setting do you use for manual mixing - beatsync or temposync and what works better for you?

I started djing in the 70’s on ttables and switch to cd’s in the late 90’s. i only started using Traktor in 2012. i don’t always have the time to play around with it as i would like, there is lots to learn and still learning. all my mixing is done manually and i don’t use sync. i know these 2 settings affect the way traktor works so that’s the reason for my question. thank you all for your input.!!!

For old school manual mixing you don’t use either one. You beat match by ear.

I use temposync. That way, you can make small adjustments manually if Traktor doesn’t get it 100% correct.

If? lol :stuck_out_tongue:

++++++++++++++++++++++++
I normaly dont use nothing, as i don’t have the time to prepare my tracks (DJing ain’t my primary occupation) - so IF i NEED to use sync (too drunk, soundsystem is shit and so on) i use temposync. That way if my grid is not OK - which happens ocasionaly - i can make small changes without compromising my sync! But yeah you match by ear.

2012 aint oldschool…

Maybe he just started using traktor in 2012, but been playing without it for long time.

Or he plays Old School Rave music?

or he plays homecoming dances and proms at Boston Latin School.

Dude clearly says he started djing in the 70’s… that is one OLD SCHOOL MOFO!!!

Maybe its Giorgio Moroder??? :smiley:

Thatrs what I get for skipping past the second paracgraph. Damned internetz and getting me in the habit of tldr!

I missed the 70’s.

Actually he editted the text on 10-11-2015 adding the 70’s part, and you posted the old school theory on 10-09-2015. You are still wrong, but not stupid wrong lol. :stuck_out_tongue:

Case closed.

Lol. He probably was like… Fuck these guys… I am oldschool as fuck… Theyre parents were dancing to my beats! Fer real tho. I have mad respect for those rocking decks pre-hip hop. They really are the pioneers. My dad hobbied for a while and showed me how to manually beatmatch on decks without pitch control.

If I was him I would think exacly that lol
