I just got my VCI-100SE and I use an Audio 2 DJ with it.
The way I have it set up is the main line coming out of the Audio 2 DJ, goes back into my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Soundcard and out to my PC Surroundsound speakers (Altec Lansing ADA995)
The problem is that when I mix, the music coming out of the speakers is very slightly delayed to what is coming from the Headphones. Very annoying and you could not really mix that way.
I had an Xponent before with a similar set up and it worked fine (however Xponent has a built in soundcard - but that still want into PC and out of desktop speakers.
Anyone know what I should to to try to sort this?

audio dj direct to speakers? the delay will be because of the route it’s taking, at a reasonable guess.
why have you got it set that way? is it for recording or because of connections to speakers? in the case of the latter can’t you use an adapter? can’t see any reason why you’d have it set like that?
I need to be able to monitor with headphones, so I have to use the Audio 2 DJ to get two signals, one master out, and one to headphones.
My particular speakers do not have RCA input - they are desktop computer speakers so I have to get the signal going into the Line In on the Soundcard, and out of the speakers. Does that make sense?
the audio interface is generally used as a replacement for the built in sound cards as alot of them don’t have the ability to run 2 signals (master and monitor).
i assume as you’ve got a vci you’re using internal mix mode? in which case, you want to set output 1 as master and 2 as monitor (don’t use the audio2 myself, basing that on it having 2 1/4 inch jacks as opposed to 2 pairs of rca’s (which would work as 1+2=master 3+4=monitor) - double check the manual, but i’m 99.5% sure that’s correct).
then plug your speakers into the master out of the interface, as they’re pc surround speakers would i be right in thinking it’s the little 3.5mm jack? you can get adapters to plug those into the 1/4 inch jacks if that’s the case, if it has the 1/4 inch, even better
and then plug headphones into the monitor out.
should solve all your problems
edit; i notice your post changed as i put this up, so some of the things i’ve said have now been half covered, but it still basically boils down to using an adapter
Yeah, just get a phono-to-line adapter from Radio Shack or some equivalent. You could even get a splitter so the signal goes into both stuff, but that would be unnecessary.
Thanks guys. The ADA995 speakers are 5.1 so the cable to the speakers has three phono’s on it. Yellow green and black - that goes into the corresponding points on the soundcard.
So, really I need an adapter to go from the RCA’s from the Audio 2 DJ - into this Black, green and yellow wire to go to the speakers. That is assuming I need all 3. I don’t even know if I can get something like that!
Those aren’t phono’s, they are line plugs, two different things
Well, you can give up the surround sound cause I don’t think it’s really necessary, and just set it for the front speakers or you can get a crazy set of converters and splitters.
Theoretically you could set the black and green each to a line to phono mono, and the yellow to line to phono stereo, then get a phono splitter so the yellow and the green get kicked down into one stereo pair, which you then run into the Audio2.
connect black and green plugs to one of the [part a] to make part c
connect yellow plug and [part c] into the other [part a] to make part d
connect [part d] into [part b]
plug [part b] into audio dj
plug audio dj into pc
i’ve attached a (crudely drawn) diagram which might help
the thing is you’ll have to mess with cables to keep switching between pc use and vci use, unless you’re happy leaving it like this full time?

alternatively if you have a hi-fi with either an aux input or mic input, you could connect audio dj to that instead - but that might mean moving your space around.
Can you tell me what the difference between the black, yellow and green plugs actually are?
Is it: Black=Fronts - Green=Rears and Yellow=Center ? If so, then I could probably use Black for Audio 2 DJ via a simple RAC - Jack connector - and still get normal PC sounds from the rear speakers.
