Simple cheap button controller (hid/numpad mod maybe)

Simple cheap button controller (hid/numpad mod maybe)

Hi!

I’m looking for a very simple and basic controller similar to Nanopad except even more basic. I just need 8 or 10 buttons to push to trigger cue points and loops.

The easiest way would be painting a usb-numpad, but i’d like the buttons to be placed horizontally. Is there any way to use numpad chip and just solder longer wires to buttons? Has anyone opened a numpad?

Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old thread but i would like to know if it would be possible?
Could you extend the wires and maybe attach to arcade buttons?

just buy a cheapo arcade pad on ebay for $10 go to spark fun and buy some buttons, then build a case, you can have like 12 buttons for $30

I ripped a number pad I had kicking around to do something similar but found it wasn’t a simple process. I’m currently modding a game pad for basic transport controls. I want a simple setup for house parties and other impromtu events. I don’t need 4 decks or full fx so 16 buttons and 4 knobs should be plenty.

That sounds like a good idea. Thanks

tell us if it worked for you, also lookin out for one!

You could just use your keyboard. Its free as you already have it!
