This release is the single from Lance Blaise’s upcoming full length album which will hit store this March. The Deep Pete original mix was created as Lance was remembering his friend in college, Peter Rock. Lance felt in the creation of this album Pete was constantly standing behind him just as he did way back. Oddly enough Lance isn’t really sure if he ever had a real friend named Pete, but he knows peter did have an ax. The twisted sirens and rises are all marks of Lance’s distorted friend. Notably not all things about Peter were creepy, he had great hair and was a real charmer with the ladies, for that Lance created a deeper edit for all the good thing about his close imaginary college pal Peter. Beautiful piano chords and deeper beats flow in this edit.

Lance’s 2 singles are accompanied by 2 great remixes. The first coming from a duo that has remixed tracks for Teggno in the past, Danny Nagels & Erez Only. The second remix is from new comer to Teggno, Lenny Ruckus & Ana Vida. Both remixes are great additions to Lance’s tracks and surely fill out this pack!

SUPPORT FROM:
Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, Richard Dinsdale, Marco Bailey, Nicole Moudaber, Technasia, Anderson Noise, Tomy DeClerque, Eddie Halliwell, Miniminds, Jon Gurd, Nihil Young, Anthony Attalla, and more…

I always wonder, if you get ‘support’ from someone does that mean they just play the track or promote it or buy it or ..?

I mean i could give you my support too ;p

It generally means that that artist is playing the track out at gigs/radio/playlists etc.

Digging the Deep House mix Lance.
Good luck with the release.

Okay cool! You can add ‘dacuba’ to the list haha

thanx guys!!

Generally means they are playing it… I promo my tracks to a select group of DJs and they leave feedback, download, and play the track…

Lance, just wondering, do you (the record company) send the tracks or do you use a promotions company to handle the releases. Are you sending to Radio as well?

Just interested as someone who does work for promo companies how an artist like you handles the distribution.
I guess you can hit the right people yourself rather than employing a company to send promos out which, lets face it dont always end up in the most useful hands.

K

I like it, it’s already in my beatport crate

digging it!

I (Teggno Records) have my own list of emails that I have gathered over the past 3 years. All of these DJs/producers have requested to be on my list or i have sought them out to ask them for an email to send promos to. Its not a very big list, like 250+, but the list is very targeted. I get the best respons this way. I require feedback to download the tracks also.

Cheers guys! Its #62 in deep house and #11 in techno! all the support is greatly appreciated!

15 deep house, #11 in techno. I appreciate all your support guys! =)

Will this be out on any other website apart from Beatport, asking as I don’t buy from there as the artwork never works for me.

At the present time no, I used to distribute Teggno on other sites, but the value just wasn’t there for me… but if you ever buy something that is mine, just let me know and I can send you the album art for it. I can either email it or just throw it up on sendspace for you…

SPAMMER! :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, good job man. If I can ever remember anything I read at work when I get home I’ll try to give it a listen.

ha:smiley:

hey sorry to bump this Lance but would you happen to know anything about sales on Beatport? as in, how to get your music up, how much sales to keep your music on, etc?

does your label apply directly, do they use a digital distribution company?

I am sure everyone would be very interested

Congrats Lance, I will check it latter at home

Well, I deal directly with Beatport as a label. I don’t use a distributor as they would get to keep a cut of the money, so no point really. I had Teggno on numerous other stores, but now I deal only with Beatport, since for techno I feel they are pretty much the place to go for music. The sales generated by all the other stores combined didn’t even come close to the money that Teggno makes from Beatport. So it was kind of not worth it for me to spend all of the time uploading and such to get the music in those stores, their systems were always timing out with uploading, Beatport is always fast and easy.

I have had numerous distributors contact me about using them, but I would not cut out my direct del with Beatport. There were some distributors who would allow me to keep my deal with Beatport, and they would handle all other sites, but at teh present time I don’t see a great value in that, as i stated befre the sales on the other store were minimal, so I would rather people have to go to Beatport only and get the tracks there. This puts more money in the pockets of the artists as well as more money in teh label account as well.

As for top tracks on Beatport. It really depends on te genre, as well as the date of the release, and how much other stuff comes out that week as to where it places in the charts. I have had stuff sell hundreds of dollars not get any placement in the charts, but had stuff with only $100 dollars in sales get in the top 100. Lots of factors come into play there. To stay in the top charts though you need a decent amount of sales everyday once you get in the top to keep it charting.

To get your music up on Beatport you need to sign it to label. I suggest looking for a smaller label with substantial good releases. Many label come and go on Beatport. Thankfully Beatport does kick off labels that are not releasing good stuff on a consistent basis. There is an abundance of crap on Beatport, and much of that comes from everyone and their mother wanting to start a record label. Beatport requires a lot to set up a direct account with them, and there is a screening process. Unfortunately that screening process can be walked around by using a distributor. Beatport then gets flooded by a lot of crap, again Beatport tries to kick off a certain number of labels at times to weed out these labels dumping bad stuff into the system.

In my opinion there needs to be a better way for beatport to weed out all of this crap. Think about back in the day, there were buyers at your local record store who would pick what got sold in the store… now there is just a flood of garbage that is out there and the weeding proces for finding tracks you like in the digital stores can be a hefty one. I don’t have a real solution to this, but I think there needs to be more labels axed from Beatport…

Hope that helps, and sorry for little rant…:sunglasses:

Dammit, how did this get passed my scope?

Once again awesome material!
