Singledeck Arduino

Singledeck Arduino

Building it this spring. Arduino based, touch sensitive jog-wheel, arcade buttons, and possibly a few surprises.

The only problematic part is construction of the jog-wheel, but I’m working on that.

I can hardly wait til time and funds come along

Looks good nice design

Good luck mate.
Can’t Wait to see the work in progress

That almost looks quality enough to sell O.O

nice design - I’m ordering my Arduino brain in the next week or so as well

don’t forget to share any code you’ve written! (there’s a thread on here with a load of Arduino links/info - post it in there if u can)

I doubt Ean would be very happy if I did :stuck_out_tongue:

@MiL0: Of course. I’m doing the designing/electronics, the majority of the coding will be handled by my good friend / programmer slave who’s working with me on it. He’s not a dj, so I can’t drag him on here (yet)

Thanks for the kind comments, I’ll update as I go along

What Arduino board are you using for your design?

Regards the Touch sensitive jogs … how about a hollow shaft encoder and pressure plate ?

Just an idea

@Fraganator: A present moment, a Mega2560. I need the additional digital inputs.

@Deevey: I looked into that. The problem with encoders is that they rarely are sensitive enough. I’m looking into a solution similar to what the VCI-100 does, with a grounding finger and an optical disk.

P.S. If anyone has any expertise on constructing jog-wheels or the like, do speak up!

Thanks

This. . .is. . EERIE!!

This almost looks like my design for my project Midi-Fighter. . .minus the platter control. . .

For the jogs, have you though bout purchasing Vestax jogs directly? or even purchasing a Mixtrack for their jogs, just in case for the LEDS for the jogs don’t work for the Vestax ones?

BTW. . .GREAT LOOKING CONTROLLER, Safefire!!!:sunglasses:

For the jog wheel, you could look into getting a used EKS XP 5. I’ve heard really good things about them. But never used them myself.

This thing looks slick. Can’t wait to see it when it’s done!

I know some people making jogs have used the sensor from an old ball- mouse to get very good results - also the motor of a hard drive and belt are good for jogs but not scratching

That first link was actually where I got my inspiration for the jog wheel.
The square-wave wheel seems the most obvious way to do it, although I do have a few extra things I’d like to try out in that booth.

Thanks a ton for the second link, that’ll be loads of help.
That guy’s controller is sick, by the way!

Having mockingly good fun
For people wanting to photoshop their way to the controller of their dreams, post here on in the Ni Kontrol M1 thread.

I dozed off listening to Jester’s mix last night, something was on my screen when I woke up. I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to be, anyone?

LoLz, I know that design from somewhere.

thought so too:slight_smile:
looks like safefire agrees with my design.
now we just need Ean and NI to do so too

I didn’t steal it! I just, borrowed, it ^^

The main feature is the mixer, I just felt like having it go along with the effects unit paradigm, which I quite like

controller looks good safefire! wheres the 2 deck(?) and mixer combo from?
