SL1210 Mk2 pitch slider swop for Mk5

SL1210 Mk2 pitch slider swop for Mk5

I have a pair of 1210s and 1200s Mk2s but have managed to get some mint Mk 5 cabinets. I am planning on swopping the internals from my Mk2 into the Mk5 and get a Mk 5 pitch assy.
Does anyone know if the Mk5 pitch plug will just plug straight into the Mk2 board and work?

Hope this all makes sense?

you can remove the click and the quartz lock from the mkII to get the pitch fader you want without that swap.

Yes I am aware of how to remove the click, that isn’t my question

Sounds like a LOT of work, for absolutely no benefit.

Unless you’re gonna sell a pair of “MK5’s”?

The benefit is that my current cabinets are looking tired and this will give them a cosmetic new lease of life

Maybe a HARD work, the circuits are different…

Confirmed: older MK2 pitch faders have different pin configurations than the updated MK5’s.

What does cabinet mean… is he talking about the plinth? Why not just repaint/anodize/powderocoat?

OK
My cabinets/plinth were tired, I had them sprayed gloss black with OE labels and they look pretty good but not perfect. A friend of mine had some Mk5 cabinets/plinths that are mint. I therefore decided to look into swopping my internals over (purely to get that manufacturer fresh out of the box look) however, I would of needed the Mk5 pitch assy with the reset button otherwise there would be a whole where the reset button goes.
I have decided against this now due to several reasons: The cost of Mk5 pitch assys is way too high for the actual benefits and I do quite like the gloss black look of my Mk 2s with my ice blue leds, I will just have them powdercoated when I get time (they were professionally sprayed, stickered and glossed over but a couple of dust particles got under the gloss - its hard to notice but it bugs me).
Thanks for all your input, I hope I have made myself clear.

I think you’ll be happier with your decision. Post up pics if you do any more work to them!
