So, I got it to work on my Mac, but not my desktop…
I figured out how to use my Macbook speakers for Master Output, and then the headphones connected to my Traktor S4 MK2 as monitor using the aggregated feature.
Now, in Windows, when I try using ASIO4ALL, I figured out how to get sound to come out from both my computer speakers (Realtek soundcard) and how to monitor with the headphones connected to my Traktor S4, but whenever I hit the cue button to monitor, the sound also will come out from Master.
How do I fix this without having to get speakers? I don’t have funds to get speakers right now, and I want to use my desktop.
I found a dusty pair of speakers to connect straight to my Traktor S4, but whenever I cue up a track, I still hear it on my master, even with the outputs set correctly.
The only way to hear a track in my monitor headphones without hearing it on master, is to have the crossfader on the opposite side.
Well, say I want to listen to Deck A only on my headphones. I need to have the crossfader ALL the way to Deck B, so that when the monitor button is on for A, I hear only B through the speakers. If the crossfader is anywhere not set to B, and the monitor button is on for A, I will hear A in both headphones and master.
You have two line faders, one for A one for B, when these are up and the crossfader is in the middle you will hear both. If you only had A line fader up thats what you would hear, same for only B.
You cue up what you want to mix in, So deck A playing, crossfader to he left, you cue up B and hey presto its not coming out the master.
Seriously this is like the most basic fundamental.
Your best bet, is to just use the s4 as the soundcard, and run the OUT of the S4 into the MIC IN of the PC/Mac whatever. That way your S4 is doing all the sound stuff, your just using your PC as the speaker.
