So I got Traktor and Ableton to sync…

Ok so just wanted to say I got Traktor and Ableton Syncd on my PC. Yes on only one computer I set it up so i can use an Ipad with Touch OSC to control Ableton and use my Denon SC2000 to control Decks A and B in traktor and use a Akai LPD8 as the control for internal mixing. It took my a couple hours but its bugless now.

I thought i would share with you guys and help out anyone whos interested.

The beginning sound cutes a bit cause i was still figuring out how to use the recorder

Interested. I’ve been meaning to set this up but haven’t gotten around to it yet. What’s involved? I’ve seen the Mac tutorial and the PC versions seemed to be out of date and I wasn’t sure if it still worked the same. Is this with
Tp2?

No not with TP2 just TP. Basically you install a virtual midi cable. And it routes Ableton to Traktor. You useing pc or mac?

PC

Are you mixing internal or external?

Can u do it externally?

Yeah The only internam part is like sync ing it. Do you have like aim? Maybe i could explain it better on there. broncotruck1968

wicked, how do you setup for internal mixing?

does this route the traktor audio into ableton or is just midiclock sync?

its basically midi clock sync. I use an ipad and trigger the stuff. Im working on a script to control both traktor and Ableton with an Ohm 64

There’s 2 videos on this very thing in a DJTT post from last month.

for mac… this is about pc… not everyone drinks the apple punch.

you CAN route the audio but this is just syncing the midi clock

video or it didnt happen!

Is it the same as this? Smart Mixing Traktor with Ableton
That was the tutorial that I wasn’t sure about if it still worked properly since it was Ableton 7 and Traktor 3 or something. If this still works the same I’ll follow the tutorial. Are you running Windows 7? Is there a new and improved option for the Midi-OX and Midi-Yoke?

Have no intrest in syncing anything with traktor but i like the mix:smiley:

ah i see…

hmmm… shame that Jack software isn’t as user friendly for PC as the version for Mac… it looked so simple in that dubspot tut.

+1 I would like to see some video.

I mixed into ableton from traktor the other night at the cafe. Manually. In seconds.

so i recently tried routing traktor into ableton using the method that was featured on the djtt smartmixing tutorial…

i’d have to strongly urge anyone to do so with caution (or better yet, just don’t use it) as the midi-ox/midi-yoke software really did a number on my computer. after doing a bit of reading online it appears that many people have run into similar issues with that software. now that i’ve removed the software, i’m hoping things are back to normal.

just thought this was worth mentioning as many pc users are probably looking for alternatives to the recently posted dubspot tutorial for traktor/ableton routing on mac.

some soundcards allow you to use loopback channels to bridge from TP/TP2 to ableton and vice versa, check focusrite stuff
