I use Traktor Pro 2 with Numark Mixtrack Pro I and the headphones are Sennheiser HD-25 II. I use a pretty shitty SteelSeries USB sound card which looks like this. I also have a sub woofer connected to 2 floor speakers with a little speaker on my desk for a centre speaker. RCA to mini jack comes from the sub woofer in to my sound card.
I have searched through Google and through the DJTT forums and I haven’t found a solution (yet). I have tried ASIO4ALL and sound doesn’t even come out from my speakers let alone my headphones. I don’t know what other options I have at this current point in time which is why I am asking you guys.
plug your speakers directly to the mixtrack pro. or get a “real” audio interface. not something “shitty.” for testing purposes to know if your headphones or speakers still works, plug it to something other than your computer. like an mp3 player, stereo, etc.
You mean via the headphone slot? I haven’t thought of that thanks. I will get a better audio interface such as NI Audio 2. My headphones definitely work. I use them on my laptop every day.
The Mixtrack Pro has two stereo outputs for your headphones and speakers, as does the Audio 2. You shouldn’t need to use ASIO4ALL, which as you already know is less reliable than using a dedicated multi-output sound card.
Is there any reason you have the external soundcard? Cause I see you have it routed back into your laptop. Unnecessary if you want to record as traktor can already do this for you and the mixtrack has a soundcard.
I have the Mixtrack Pro which includes the Numark DJ I/O. This is built in with the Mixtrack Pro. This includes a MIDI slot, 2 RCA outputs, a jack microphone slot and a jack headphone slot. I also have a SteelSeries USB Soundcard which plugs in to my desktop computer via USB. The USB soundcard only includes a mini jack headphone and microphone slot. Note that this soundcard was made for gaming, which is why I probably need an upgrade. So yes, I suppose I have got an Aggregated Sound Device, which is putting two cards together like you described.
I currently do not use the 2 RCA slots as I cannot figure out where I can put them without getting another soundcard. I use my MIDI to USB cable to plug my controller in, and then I have my subwoofer which is plugged in to my mains socket and then a RCA cable from the subwoofer goes to my USB soundcard.
I think I’ve elaborated everything… Thanks for your help
The Mixtrack Pro does not have a MIDI slot. The Mixtrack RCA outputs are there to connect your speakers to, and adapters can be bought for next to nothing if you don’t have the right wires.
Well, whatever that thing is to the far left. Definitely not a USB slot, even though it says USB on it. I used to use RCA cables and I still have them. But that’s when I had 2 USB soundcards…
Why are you using 2 sound cards? I didn’t see an answer above for that. If your controller has a built in sound card, use the headphone jack on your controller, and run your audio from the controller to your stereo/speakers. Using 2 sound cards is like having 2 steering wheels in your car.
