Sound all distorted - help please!!
Hi folks… New to the forum and 1st post from me.
I’ve got a Reloop Rmx 40 mixer hooked up to 2 x 1210’s.
When playing the decks the sound is really distorted on both phono channels . I’ve hooked my iphone via one of the line channels and sounds fine.
This seems to be a new issue - did borrow a friends mixer to compare and the same issue appearing.
Any help or thoughts be much appreciated!

If the 1210’s are distorting on both mixers its either.
a) Ground Cables
b) RCA Cables
c) Bad Stylus
d) Bad Carts
e) Bad Tonearm
f) Bad Tonearm or Cart Adjustment
g) Bad Contacts
Personally I’d grab another headshell / cart or stylus and try it as a troubleshooting starting point, as its unlikely to be anything else affecting both decks in exactly the same manner.
Sounds like you maybe haven’t connected the ground cable.
In my experience, if the ground wire on the TT isn’t connected, it wouldn’t have any sound. Fortunately, I’ve always had self grounded TT. I’ve only dealt with it when helping set up at parties or other people’s houses
My first reaction would be the needles.
