sound cards and 7.1 speakers

Hi guys, i was investing in getting some 7.1 speakers in use with movies and a computer, and was reading that you needed a good soundcard to make good use of the speakers… i already have a soundcard that supports 7.1, would the presonus firebox work with these speakers aswell? thanks

As long as you have the right connectors, cause those speakers probably connect via RCA. It also might use the sub as a mixer.
