Sound effects problem

Hey, I’m pretty new to traktor pro and not very good with the maping atm(I used to use virtual dj). Right now I’m having problems with the sound effects. They are working but then don’t distort the song completely. for example, when I use beat masher it works but it plays very quietly and the song still plays through it.
any help would be much appreciated.

Check the wet/dry knob in the effects panel in the software. To just have the effect come through, you need to turn the knob all the way to the right (fully wet).

Exactly this. Sounds just like what’s happening with you. If you’re using a Traktor Kontrol X!1, make sure the very top KNOB on the Kontrol X1 is turned to the far right, (DRY-WET). If you’re not using a Kontrol X1, just slide the bar with the ‘- and +’ either side of it, to the right hand side to apply the full amount of effect.
