Cool. I wasn’t really looking for a suggestion, just randomly curious because I haven’t played with it.
About the rest of your comments…I’ve used and owned PT LE in the past (7.3) and worked on HD (as well as Ableton, FL, Logic, Cubase, Digital Performer, Reaper, Renoise, Ardour, and probably some other stuff) and PT just wins hands down for the way I think.
I realize I’m in the minority of bedroom guys and definitely would-be EDM producers, but PT makes a few specific things easier and has given me the best results in the past.
Studio one IS kristal audio engine so it has to be good.
I actually went over this thread just make sure no one is offering that foul MAudio soundcard (that shall not be named).
That stays in the DJ booth, I don’t really feel like ripping apart my setup if I want to produce and like having both ready to go since I go back and forth.
I totally agree. I view Ableton more as an instrument, a way to get ideas down quickly. But when it actually comes to recording/engineering PT wins in ever way possible.
Oh right…all of them. (never had good luck with maudio stuff…for some reason Avid stuff has all worked for me, admittedly with some headaches).
Agreed. I enjoyed my time DJing on it, and I’d use it as the center of a Live PA setup if I wasn’t using all hardware. But, I can’t see it for production/recording. I know it’s good enough…some things just take forever.
Pretty much everything I could want and much more to expand that will serve me well for quite a while.
Before using the audio 8 there was always audible noise in the monitors whether something was playing or not through the RCA outs or the 1/4" stereo out. I was using the 1/4" stereo out since it had the only volume knob on the soundcard and even with the volume knob turned down to 0 it was still noisy through the speakers and was kind of annoying.
The Komplete Audio 6 is dead silent through the balanced outs, sounds great and is built really well.
I recommend this soundcard to anyone looking. Everything is top notch and I really don’t think you can beat it for the price. B&H has them for $199 without any rebates I think until december 31 (from $329) in stock and I got mine pretty quick.
