SoundCloud Alternatives

I’ve had a quick look and surprisingly can’t find a thread on this subject.

Now that SoundCloud have changed their rules regarding user limits (120mins!! for free users), it is not an option for smaller DJs to use their site. So the hunt is on for our next home.

A good option seems to be MixCloud where you can upload up to 1.5Gb of music.
The bad points though are that other people cannot download your mixes or leave comments, a mix must be less than 100Mb, and you dont get the waveform.
The good points are the storage space, and you have to give a tracklist so they can pay royalties to the right people (so they say), plus it has a nice clear layout too.

Its a shame SoundCloud has changed their rules because they had it all working so well. Nevermind, hopefully MixCloud is ready to step into their shoes. Does anybody else know any other possible sites that can take over where SoundCloud have left off?

Good site. We’ve got around a dozen mixes up there atm. Got a good forum etc as well. Facebook links all that stuff :slight_smile:

Depending on when you signed up you might have more then the 120mins for free accounts. Take a look into you account :wink:

I think if you’ve been a member for a while they give you the amount of minutes you already had. In our case 10 hours.
