Step sequencer software
Hi,

I found this, but haven’t used it.
if you google “step sequencer” you’ll find some. I haven’t used hardly any of them, though.
If you just want to map it as pad/knob controls to play drums/samples, any DAW will do it. Ableton Live’s Instrument Rack + Impulse wouldn’t be a bad choice. Neither would a Drum rack + Simpler devices.
thanks for the answers.
i’ll already experimented a bit in ableton with it,
but I didn’t found a way to use it as a real step seq like an electribe…
okay, so you actually want a step sequencer.
You can’t really do that in Ableton Live by itself, but there are max4live patches that will do it.
Frankly, I’m not sure what you want to accomplish like that with only 8 pads on the thing.
And I’m sorry I can’t be more help. That idea appeals to my interests, but like I presume you have, I’m just about ready to buy a Maschine if I decide I want the computer involved or a groove box if I decide I don’t. I have some step sequencers for my iPhone that I really like…but they don’t listen to an lpd8 for obvious reasons.
Have you looked at Hydrogen? IHNFC of its midi compatibility, but it’s a step-based sample player that I remember having fun with at one point. iDrum also exists.
If you have Ableton google midi step sequencer vst. There is bound to be a plugin you can use.
I found this off the bat:

i’ll take a look at those plugins for Ableton.
