Summer Festival thread
Glastonbury is only hours away from kicking off (officially), so is anyone going to any festivals this summer?
Personally, I will be making my annual pilgrimage to T in the Park. The Slam tent will again be a heaving techno-fest, but I generally enjoy seeing more different types of music at a festival than EDM.

I’ll probably visit the Love Parade* again, but the line up so far is nothing that makes me go crazy for it (Unlike back in 2008, where Moby and Underworld played!), so I haven’t decided yet.
*Yeah, I know, people bitch about how it’s now a commercial sell-out event, because it’s sponsored by a Gym chain and shit like that, but if you are there, listen to the DJs, dance with million other people around you, you don’t notice any of that. And technically, it’s not more of a sell-out event than it was 13 years ago, when everybody still liked it, so shut the funk up.

it’s far away… in the first weekend in september… but there’s electric zoo in new york. im rotting away here in south east asia, where there is a dearth of electronic music and plethora of “techno” so bad these producers should be rotting in a special level of hell… so yes i’m happily anticipating the end of summer.
and yes, its also “commercial” but the line up is not bad!! The man I’m dying to see is claude vonstroke - others include richie hawtin, chemical brothers, marco carola, paul kalkbrenner…

by the way speaking of summer festivals, has anyone been to Burning Man?? Care to please give a report? I’ve never been, and really want to go. Ive met people who swear by it (damn hipsters), and then there’s others that give really jaded opinions, but then again those are the people who think they are oldsters so everything is shit compared to the old days.

Worst bit was that I turned down a virtually free ticket to Sonar in Barcelona because I thought I was going Glade and couldn’t afford to do both.

Absolutely brilliant weekend. Perhaps the most enjoyable festival I have ever been too. I went to Boom 2 years ago, and Ozora last year but was not disappointed by Cosmo at all. Such a friendly intimate vibe, got to know loads of faces from the dancefloor by the end! Nice not to have to treck from your tent to the stage either. The site was beautiful and especially in that weather. As for the music - top notch. Really enjoyed the night time music on Friday night and the incredibly psychedelic fullon being played Saturday daytime. Any idea who was Djing from about 12pm on Saturday for what seemed like several hours..? Trippiest stuff I’ve experienced on a dancefloor for a long while. (yea - saw the naked dude - was he the one the kept spinning round and round in pirouettes?)
