Wondering if this is possible or if there’s a decent low latency way to do it? I’ve got a gig coming up with a friend that uses TP2/S4, whereas I use TP1.2.7/MF/VCI-100 and a sound card. Long story short, I’m wondering if there is a decent way to sync the two together?
If you’re just talking about switching from the other guy, the beat-match-it approach is the only one that makes sense…
If you’re planning back to back and both dropping tracks on top of another, I get it that you would like to sync.
As Karlos mentions, if you have a sound card with MIDI in/out, you can hook the out (master, one of you guys) to in (slave, the other guy) and send midi from master, then sync to external source in the slave Traktor. If you (1.2.7) are going to be the master you also have to check the “Internal Clock” option on your clock panel.
Or, you could sync via wifi. Google the keywords mentioned above and I bet you’ll find many video tutorials on how to do it.
Sometimes you got to keep the long story as is to avoid being made fun of, I guess.
Hope you have a great gig!
thanks dudes! i’m thinking that will most likely work. i’m on an m-audio pro soundcard, with midi i/o.
and yes, i’ve been dj’ing long enough to have a more than comprehensive and pro demonstration of beat matching. respectively it’s waaaaaaaay different on vinyl. (i cannot stand having a pitch detent for example.)
but alas, we’ll probably be playing tracks back to back at some point in the night, so thanks for all the tips dudes.
Just curious. Do you mean you can’t stand the center click of older 1200s? Or do you mean your Traktor increases/decreases pitch in too large increments.
If the latter, it’s what ever you’re using for the pitch slider that’s causing the problem, btw, Traktor can pitch shift (manually) at around 0.008% increments, which is really, next to step-less. Just for your info!
yeah, the center detent on 1200’s are the worst. as far as traktor goes, it is definitely more fine tunable pitch wise than any turntable in my opinion.
