Sync Traktor 2 ( Mac Vs PC Windows XP )

Sync Traktor 2 ( Mac Vs PC Windows XP )

Hello People

I would like to ask for help for this setup, syncing a Mac and a Windows XP-based PC via Ethernet cable.
I’ve tried via MIDI but the results are beyond expectations, swaying a lot of time and staying out, most of the time.
I’ve read in several places that the network system is more reliable and stable, with much better results at the level of traktor sync.
I’m looking for a good tutorial or a help in your direction.
Thanks in advance for your help

Ditch the mac since theyre shit and get two pcs

MIDI over ethernet is an option. unless you have like devices (2 s4’s) then thats going to be your best method.

with 2 s4´s , its MIDI Sync and its more Effective, i think…

any help???

mate…thats too old to be even funny anymore.

xD

As a Windows user and at the risk of getting a chorus of 'this again’s, the problem is most probably your PC. The MIDI clock implementation leaves a lot to be desired.

MIDI clock in general is pretty rubbish to be honest. Couple of options:

  1. slave to a hardware source such as a mixer with MIDI clock
  2. abandon MIDI clock, dial in the same bpm on both computers and pitch bend into time

to synchronize the hand, so I know how.
ethernet connection was asking, as have read that it was much more stable.
from what I read Richie Hawtin sync via ethernet and he knows what he does, then I think the best option.
asked for help in a way to do it.

Sounds like the best method to me. It’s like beat matching for dummies.

It’s Not for basic mixing brothers … do tell me how to synchronize the decks sample loop with samples that show the method

It’s still MIDI clock sync.

course it is, but more stable .. from what I read

Well; give it a go then

What i do when im pleying back2back laptops with my mate on a friday,

Prefferably done on a 4ch mixer btw.

What? You’re not being very clear.

The sample decks automatically sync with traktor’s master clock, don’t they?

I’ll post that link again 'cos it contains the software that lets you sync MIDI via ethernet on Mac and PC:

Hello, any best method to do this?? still get BPM unsync.Help

ipMIDI work, MIDI cables too. Traktor’s MIDI clock is somehow good, but not perfect.

yes, but i need it perfect, varies very much the bpm :disappointed:

It shouldn’t. Assuming you don’t change tempos you should be able to just dial in the same BPM, nudge the beats together and then not even need a midi clock.
