i’ve been working my way through the site and wondered if when on loop mode(2.5 tsi) if i have all 4 decks looping and want to release them all is it as simple as pressing the loop button or buttons which would be lit underneath the length shortening/lengthening knobs and they will automatically swing in together?.i can’t test this at the mo so am hoping someone can advise.
Not even on Bome. I just meant on your physical keyboard, not that complicated, nor in need of Bome.
What is it with people here and Bome’s? Well, it’s fucking powerful and can allow you to do things that are mindblowing when you dig in deep enough. Modifiers are great, and much better than Pages before it, but really, Bome’s just allows you so much more flexibility and power.
When people need to resort to bome’s, you just know there’s an epic fail to the controller.
Nah, to be serious, Bome’s is a great way of tweaking your VCI to a great exponent. If I was in need of it, I’d be tweaking it to hell and back, just for the fun of it.
Bome’s can be cool, but before starting out with it, you need to check whether you really need it or not.
Im not being a dick but im the only person on here who seems to be able to answer hallf the midi questions on here look though the forums. Im just wondering if there is sumthing im missing with bomes
I can guarantee you’re not the only one able to answer half the questions on MIDI.
Regardless, like Tekki said, it’s a MIDI translator. It takes any incoming message and spits out whatever you want it to. It makes super knobs relatively easy to program and tweak, and makes really simple controllers become massively powerful, depending on your level of patience and your imagination.
I spose that controllers such as the hercuels rmx that have no way of editing the midi cc of each message would benefit from this. Apart from that there isnt rerly anything that interesting for controllers. there seems alot of good stuff you can do with ur laptop keyboard and this. PS the timers look interesting
thanx for the replies but apparently in the 2.4 tsi update it states that the buttons to come out of loop also sync for ‘‘ritchie hawtin style looping’’.i am using 2.5 and have tried this after watching
but even though it seems to sync it becomes out of time i.e the claps from each track are a beat apart.i dont think bomes is whats needed here and am sure im not the only person who owns a vci and wants to use this feature.if anyone knows what im doing wrong im all ears.
You can do stuff like what is only possible with the 1.3 mapping.
Like having a group of effects selected, then all set them to their right amounts, then adjusting all those effects at a single time with different ratios to one another.
Have a virtually unlimited amount of modifiers and the use of having multiple modifier conditions.
Superior LED control, especially when it comes to modifiers (think 4 deck LED support which the VCI-100 2.5 official techtools mapping doesn’t have).
@Tekki - the use of Bomes has nothing to do with the controller and has everything to do with the limitations of the Traktor midi assignments.
thanks bentosan.
so from reading the link as long as the tracks are beatmapped well it will work with most tracks?.there was a mention about the problematic tracks that would be covered in the next weeks article but i couldn’t find it.it would be nice to know that if im playing out and decide to play around with the loops then if one or more of the tracks was ‘problematic’ then i coulld fix it by say nudging them back in without losing too much sweat.also i’ve got the basic bomes which i use as a midi through with loop be to stop the freezing which has worked flawlessly so far.im new to all this mate (only had the vci for 2 weeks)and am slowly learning the basics.would i benifit from trying to learn this now(has it made a big difference to the way you use your vci) or are you happy with the 2.5/3.0 for now .thanx
