Technics Faceplate Covers?

Technics Faceplate Covers?

Been looking into getting some faceplate covers for my techincs, having problem trying to find them in the UK all the ones ive seen have been from the US. and has anybody used them at all i’m sort of worried there going to scratch up my actual faceplate on my deck ?

heres a picture if your not too sure what i’m on about

Keep an eye on auctions from this guy:

I bought a pair of white ones off him a few weeks ago, they took a while to come (I think he makes them to order), but the quality is decent.

You can see mine in the Serato Sync video I did for DJTT.

I bought a pair of white pitch trims from an eBay seller called Methlykev to match, he does different colours.

There’s also a pair of blue ones on eBay right now for £50, can’t work out what brand they are though.

They look pretty smart aswell, the pitch fader trim is a nice touch. Im just worried about the tolerance of the flaceplates because my TT’s are flightcased and move about alot and if theres any sort of movement with the cover wouldnt that scratch up the face of the deck ?

Yep. That’s one of the reasons I never liked these covers…

I’m surprised someone has not made them out of very thin plastic yet…

Seems like something decksaver could do quite easily and might actually sell well.

Ultimately, you’re putting a big piece of cut, pressed steel on top of your decks. I can’t guarantee you won’t get scratches.

12inchskinz do Perspex tops, which are pretty cool; they’re in the US but I’ve had them ship things to the UK many times. If you have your decks in cases you won’t really miss the side pieces.

A skin from StyleFlip might be another ‘harmless’ option.
