I love the clean and professional look of two silver 1200s (I do though prefer black 1210s) but the only real use I’ve seen of a faceplate 1200 would be DJ Short-e’s

The ones that I would consider are the ones from 12inchskinz.com
I have a skin for my mixer from them and its really high quality… but I dont have the 1200 skins.
i like the look too, i saw them at the recordcase dj store too. Looks pretty dope, they had it in all colours. I would buy the faceplates too but i have no technics, i go with the PDX-2000, which I LOVE!!! ![]()
I really don’t like faceplates on Technics. Makes 'em look cheap.
A good skin looks much better.
Been debating about this myself to be honest. Got my tables second hand, and they are more than a bit beat up. I’m not fully comfortable taking them apart and getting them painted (which I think would probably be the nicest option) and so I’ve been looking at alternatives myself.
Not really sure which way to go yet though. Skins can be a pain in the ass to put on, and I wouldn’t want anything complicated anyhow. And the faceplates aren’t really that amazing looking. Bah. Decisions.
what about carbon fiber wrapping them?
one of the user here has it done & it looks awesome.
i think i’ll try wrapping mine first & see if i’m getting bored of the wrap just strip them off & change, or send them for a paint job.
I bought my 1210’s 2nd hand, whilst they are in good condition like any used set they are not perfect. However they are not at the stage of needing a strip down and are mechanicly good.
I love the look of white 1210’s so I did a compromise; I bought a used pair of brass covers cheap from ebay and sprayed them white with 2 pac. I’ve got the look without ripping the decks apart so made sense for the short term.
Eventually I’ll strip down but that day is a long way off.
