What do you think these 2 beautiful turntables are going to be valued at.
I could se the G at the 1,000.00 price point, can’t really say anything about the GAE though, between the fact that it’s an anniversary items and that they’re only making 1200 I can only say it’s going to be high. Hope it’s not too much, that’s actually the one I want to buy.
Yeah just 1200 (get it) anyway yea that’s what they confirmed on there site. The more reason I wish I knew now what they will be worth so that I am ready to click purchase like on the iPhone pre-Oder day
As suspected, priced out of reach of proper DJs, these will go to rich producer-DJs who’ve never used vinyl thinking their awesome but with gather dust. Hopefully some real DJs can snap them up.
But seriously, don’t get your panties in a twist over the GAE limited version - if the regular version is priced reasonably (and I do believe $900-ish would be a ok price for the G version). We weren’t bitching about the price of the gold plated 1200 back in the day, right
Honestly, I am kind of dissapointed. There’s not much DJ functionality in a deck that will be mostly purchased by DJ’s. The reality is that audiophiles are few and far between these days. Most vinyl collectors aren’t gonna shell out anything over $500 when there are already so many options out there.
The plus side will be the release bringing down the cost of used technics. That makes me happy.
I think a lot of you guys are missing on a potential hidden benefit. The used market for current 1200’s will likely go down in price since Techs are back to being manufactured again.
Just read that the estimated price for both players is ~$4,000 (each). This high price point could possibly raise prices of older 1200s, not decrease them.
I thought the price of the LE was 4K, not the standard? 4K for the standard is ridiculous. The only people that would pay that would be idiots or collectors.
