Technics SL1200 M3D

Technics SL1200 M3D

Coudn’t find much info on the netz about them other than that they do not have the pitch detent, have a sunken power switch and a pitch reset button.

Found one locally and would like to know if it is worth picking up…

Any known issues? Same quality as MKs???

for all intents and purposes consider it an mk5 with an incandescent pop up light instead of an led popup light. the mk5s have more anti-skate but that shouldn’t really mean much to you.

they are excellent tables and you can sometimes find good deals on them with less mark up than mk5s. if you want the led pop up you can get full led light kits for not much money.

Perfect, thanks mate! Craiglist is taking away my life :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: coming from CDJs, I don’t know much about turntables. My main question is about grounding. I don’t see any grounding screws on my Ecler mixer…do these need grounded and if so, how would I do that? :open_mouth:

yes they need grounding, which mixer? they should have ground thumb screws, i’ve never seen a DJ mixer without them.

also, show some support for getting a CDJ/TT subforum here! supposedly it is in the works but we could use it. http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39720

Ecler Nuo. Don’t know how I missed it! Big and silver!

Yeah will do mate!

Any idea what they would usually sell for?

If i was to sell my m3d’s i would want 250-300 each.

Yea I second that. I just sold mine for $350, but it was absolutely mint. Should be able to pick one up for anywhere from $250-350 on the regular, and you can always find the obscure deal every once in a while for less

Thanks guys. I can’t get around to picking it up until Friday, so if all goes well, I’ll share how much I paid then.

Follow up question. If I upgrade to Scratch 2, can I keep using my cdjs in HID mode like I did in Pro, or do I have to convert to timecode for them?

yes scratch just adds timecode to pro

Sorry, yes to which part? Am I able to select if I use timecode or HID, or is timecode my only option in scratch?

you can use both.

Perfect, thanks. Now need to wait and see if NI ever comes out with a reasonable upgrade from Pro to Scratch.

Karlos was saying they did as of a few days ago…

Yeah I remember that but when I looked on the site, it still said more than 300. I even logged in my account to see for sure.

I’ll have to see exactly what was said in that post in the morning.

something about buying the s4 upgrade and being able to use it with a certified mixer or soundcard

I have had so many 1200s/1210s come and go. All models in different conditions. But the ones I always kept are my MK3D (Japan version of M3D). The M3D/MK3D is my favorite among all 1200s/1210s. I like it even better than the M5G/MK5G because I don’t really need the extra pitch range and extra range or anti-skate.

Sounds great! I am only picking up one, but have big plans for it! It’s kind of a crazy idea, but I think you all will like it :sunglasses:

Why only one?
