Hey, I want to do this. Put some Spacecamp action on the Mixtrain!
Also, if someone wants to help me do a writeup of what a mixtrain is and how it’s made and how you can do one with your friends, I’ll embed the final product of this mixtrain on the blog (and even host it on the DJTT mixcloud if we want) and we’ll share it out to the whole world. Sound like fun / adequate pressure to make this super awesome?

How about if each DJ writes a super short thing, then we can whack it all together along with actual journalistic blogging from yourself or someone? Kind of like a blogttrain? 
Well, I don’t use MP3’s and use a A&H zone 92 mixer, which is all analogue, so it’s not really going to work for me. I think in any case Sambo will have to do some jigging with levels. I’m just doing mine so that the peaks go to around digital 0db
just convert your part to mp3?
Sounds great. Still looking for a timetable for everyone, I am nearly done with my 15 minute section. However, it is around 22 songs. Just need to record and cut it up.
I think I’ll need till the end of the weekend. Not a lot of free time this week.

Same… busy week and weekend for me. I can have something ready by Tuesday at the outside.
We need to get this finalised ASAP. I’m off to Norway with work next Sunday for a week, and I’ll need a couple of weeks to do mine, so, hopefully, that gives you an idea of how I’d like the timings to work out…
If that doesn’t fit with everybody, as long as I know the BPM of the guy before me, and the BPM that they guy after me wants to mix into, I can do mine out of sequence and then it can be slotted in later.
I’ve never done a mix train before, but surely it would be to actually hear all that has gone before and then add what you feel.
I haven’t decide what I want to add. But I am sure I would like to hear everything up to the point so I can actually decide which direction to go.

Dunno if this has started yet, i’d be up for doing it, but no worries if not.
I’ve done a couple of mix trains, 1 good and 1 bad, and let me tell you doing it in mp3 you find the quality really starts to fall off when re-encoding to mp3 a few times.
I would really suggest keeping it in WAV, the format traktor records in anyway… if you imagine if you keep re-encoding to mp3 you loose a bit every time and the first part of the mixtrain ends up sounding like 68kbps limewire rip. trust me!
It’s a bit longer on the bandwidth, upload and download etc but it sounds 10 x better.

When I stitch it all together, I will work entirely in lossless formats.

That’s the order. Chaser if you’re not comfortable going first, I’m sure Swift wouldn’t mind jumping in. Patch, we can move you around if you’re going to be on your jollies 
(We can move anyone around for the sake of convenience of course, but lets try and stick to this)
Aim for 15 minutes, if you go a bit over or a bit under, that’s fine by like a minute or so. If we’re going to go all-out, the end length shouldn’t really matter cause we’re talking a LOTR scale mixtrain here.
So get cracking with the mixes, whilst I try and figure out a way for us to share these.
All done with my section. If I have to go second I can make it work but here is a taste.
FAR from perfect but with a week and a half cannot expect it to be super clean.
