the future of effects

Dear DJ tech tools users,

I’m a product designer currently working on a university project and would really appreciate your help in answering a quick question for my market research.

How would you like to control DJ effects in the near future?

i dont know about you guys but i control mine like this

Jog wheels, velocity sensitive pads and touch faders are my weapon of choice.

More knobs and buttons than you shake a stick at.

My dream controller would be a hybrid between the BCR 2000, and the launchpad, with rgb back lighting and LCD screens (The really old ones, because that’s all it would need) where you can write in your own labels and know which bank you’re changing to without looking at your laptop.

Go look at the different sensors available at Adafruit and Sparkfun. There are WAY more than your list.

Overall I like the tactile. Knobs, faders, buttons, etc. In fact I’d actually like to see decent sized knobs on controllers not something for little girly fingers. Also plenty of visual feedback in the form of displays and colors.
