so i was djing a frat party this past weekend (i wasn’t drinking cause i don’t drink while djing) and it got busted and a hundred and fifty people including myself got written up for underage drinking.
no fun 
Blame the guy mooning the officers as they drove down the street outside.
if you weren’t drinking and they have no proof you were, you can easily dispute the charge.

21… i don’t know you guys do it down south… i thought 19 was extreme considering a couple of the provinces in canada the drinking age is 18.

I’m not sure about your local laws, but you should be able to get out of that pretty easily. If you were hired to play it might help your case if you can prove it and show that you weren’t just there partying, but actually working. Seems like a waste of time to me and I’m generally pro cop on most things.
are the states so strict when it comes down to underage drinking? here in germany when i was 14-15 and the cops saw us with some beer bottles they just said something like: “when we come back we hope to not see you drinking beer, son!” some years ago the age for drinking beer and whine was 16, now it´s 18 but still no one really cares…

Take it to court. Cops don’t know the law as well as a judge or lawyer 
Also, why is the legal age for smoking 18 in America? You would think smoking and drinking would have the same age limits.

It’s that attitude that lets the cops get away with it. They didn’t see you drinking and guilty by association is not the law. I would even consider getting a lawyer, but it might end up costing more in the end.
you have rights, but it’s up to you to stand up for them - the cops aren’t going to, not when it’s in their best interests to squeeze fines out of people whether they deserve them or not.
Thing is in the States you can start driving at 16. Allowing kids to start drinking AND driving at 16 is not a good idea. And the area I live in most kids have no (and have never had) any restrictions and their parents have endless amounts of cash flow - so they tend to get away with everything short of murder.
Due to that reason, i’m fuckin’ glad that they don’t allow kids to drink at such an early age. I do remember though having free access to alcohol back when I lived in Poland.
