so guys here is the thing i own a bcd3k and a korg nanokontrol…the bcd is asigned for deck a+b (looping, loading, eq-ing and so on) the nanokontrol is asigned for loading and playing deck c+d and deck fx a+b+c+d. now the problem always when i dj after i think 2-3 hours i´m using the deck fx and deck c+d more less, what means that i only use the bcd and the master fx section on it. no use of the nano anymore…is it just me getting lazy or tired ore has anybody else discovered that after a period he gets “uninspired”?
it’s not because you use 2 controllers. it’s because you get tired and not so enthusiastic about djing after 3hours. it’s natural.
and if you think it’s a problem, just keep using both controllers and it will be solved!

To be quite honest, me likey more knobs and faders. Keeps you busy. My beginner setup was just two turntables and a really basic mixer with only EQ. When I knew how to beatmatch, you mixed two songs together and then you had 6 minutes spare time to wait to mix a new track in. I find that quite boring. Music is created in a creative process: having more knobs and faders, etc. means that you are not limited in this process due to your lack of your controls.
I think its all about the workflow. I use a bcd3k and a nanopad with vdj, kinda similar to your setup except that i use the pad for cuing and transporting mostly. I have several effects mapped to the pad also, but i keep finding myself using the effect buttons on the bcd more often and use the nanopad for triggering stuff (samples,loops,cues and so on).
Now i dont know about the workflow you experience with TP, but i am quite sure you use the fancy tricks that you are most comfortable with rather than concentrating on all those different effects all the time, right?
I mean, i can feel you bro, i practice 4 deck mixing for a while now with vdj, and at the beginning of a set i use all 4 decks and jump between all of them with cues, and to the end i run mostly loops on c+d and concentrate mixing on the two main decks. you know, i use the bcd for a+b and the nanopad for c+d/effects/samples/cues…but im some way these actions are also maped to the bcd, so it soesnt really matter wich controller i use, as long as i reach my goal
