A non-DJTTer got hold of me yesterday to ask me some questions about what Traktor has been up to recently, thinking i might have more information than him. I didn’t get much information but i have been given reason to believe that NI could well be up to something for Traktor - I’m not sure if this means working on 3.5 or another version altogether. It seems exactly what they are doing isn’t known publicly(no google search found anything), but this guy seemed pretty excited by whatever it was, so i get a feeling you guys might know some details too.
Yeah all this information is rather vague, but perhaps some of you guys have heard something too and can share what you have heard on the grape vine
I got the impression it was something bigger than that - something worth being secretive about to start with, he doesn’t wish me to disclose his name - so it will be going to the grave with me
I’m pretty sure this is software orientated, though i have heard that rumor(we posted about that one here on DJTT) - i’m pretty sure this isnt tied to that.
I don’t think it’ll be Rewire, VST or a hardware controller. These are things that NI has stated emphatically they aren’t going to do, and I don’t think they will. Unless they are going to really do something different there isn’t much of a point in the hardware controller what with all of the options on the menu.
I really think Traktor needs to be redesigned from the ground up.. its a great app but slow and buggy.. terrible interface for midi capabilities.. just look at Ableton for a shining example… I also hate the lack of standardisation… e.g. if I have a dialogue box why wont it accept me hitting the enter button.. simple things like that…
I want it to run fast and smooth..
more effects are always good…
better eq’s with proper kills when you turn all the way to the left..
better user interface for browsing music - CD art display
better id3 tag support id3 2.4 for example
fix the nmx functionality

[/quote]Traktor’s new anti terrorism button, press it and boom Osama’s camp blows.
Why am I thinking you’re a NI employee drumming up a rumour for publicity, hehe, but I think we’ll just have to wait & see for this one mate (crosses fingers for anti terrorism button).
Hd midi will probably be one of the things we can expect to see.
Even though like stated above NI isnt looking into expanding their software to support VST it would still be awesome if they did!
They def need to revamp the Midi menu…as we all know it can get confusing.
More high quality effects would be nice, maybe fix up the Eqs to make them sound more real(as compared to an analog mixer).
It’s called Traktor Pro (really v4) and, boy, are you gonna hate it. Unless they make some drastic changes before release. That’s all I can really say.
Technically, no one that has “inside information” is allowed or should be talking about what NI might have in store. Sorry guys but this psychic adviser is mum for now.
Anyone that is aware of the details has signed their life away in blood so as to not spread rumors. That being said, when something does come out- i promise you will hear about it here on dj TT first.
