THE USUAL SUSPECTS: Verbal Kint is NOT Keyser Söze.
So, i hope y’all know the almost perfect movie “the usual suspects” and the theories that have been made about its ending.
I tended to follow everyone’s theory that verbal was, in fact, Keyser Söze. This is of course backed up by the fax that is sent to kujan’s office just after he runs after verbal, definitely placing him on the ship at the time , and by verbal’s own story.
But after i watched the movie for the 4th-something time, i noticed one thing that nobody on the forums ever seemed to mention, and that is the line that verbal says just after the first half of the movie.
From the script the line is:
"Where’s your head, Agent Kujan? Where do
you think the pressure’s coming from?
Keyser Soze - or whatever you want to
call him - knows where I am right now.
He’s got the front burner under’ your ass
to let me go so he can scoop me up ten
minutes later. Immunity was just to deal
with you assholes. I got a whole new
problem when I post bail."
And, as predicted, SPOILERS, a couple minutes after he posts there’s “kobayashi” (which is obviously a name made up on-the-fly by verbal at the station, read from under kujan’s coffee mug) waiting to “scoop him up” in front of the station.
And just think about it: Good lawyers are people who know their way with words. They know how to convince the jury about something. I also would expect Söze, as a major figure in his business, to have someone do the dirty work for him, without actually risking his life on the boat. Of course the one who would have to go on the boat would need to know the face of the man who had to be eliminated. And who would be best suited for this job if not Söze’s trusted lawyer?
So, is Keiser Söze in fact the “lawyer” known as kobayashi, placing Verbal in the actual role of the lawyer/action taker?
One last thing. Soze was supposedly turkish. Spacey is the personified definition of a caucasian male. Pete Postlethwaite (the guy who plays Kobayashi), on the other hand, has enough of a peculiar fisionomy to be at least partially turkish (Söze’s apparently half turkish and half german)
So without further addo, do any of you have any ideas of the validity of my claims?

P.S.: If you haven’t watched the movie, you have two options. You can either buy a gun and kill yourself, or you can stand yo a** up and go get a copy of it NOW.
