The first time was 3 days after buying my first car. Did not have a chance to buy lock nuts yet. Come out and the car was on bricks. They took my 15" rims.

Arrived home pretty fucked after a gig and left my gear in the car for a few hours (it was already 5.30am)… 2 hours later, and over 500 vinyls were gone, EVERYTHING I was currently playing at the time and a ton of rare ones.
What really bothered me was they didn’t bother with the “high” value and easy to offload (and run off with) stuff .. Speakers, amp, Mixer, Car Stereo. just the vinyl was nicked, they knew exactly what they wanted and it came in 25kg boxes!.
So very VERY gracious that I had some really top notch folk get me back on my feet pretty fast with vinyl donations, freebies and label promos’… I was looking in pretty bad shape for 2 weeks though.
Had two macbooks, a hard disk (with all my music and effects) and my wallet stolen out of my car in romania. Learnt my lesson, don’t leave stuff in your car in foreign countries.
I know, I’m an idiot.

Yeah…a month before the stole the wheels off my car (good couple years ago), they broke into my house and stole my CDJ100’s, Mixer, Amp, EQ, CD’s, Headphones…
Was a sad day that man…

I’ve had my car broken in to before and it’s a horrible feeling. The guys ripped my dashboard apart to get my radio. It must have been rookie kids because the destroyed the interior.
Most annoying thing about when my car was broken into was the police decided we where trying to commit fraud with our insurance company so wouldn’t write us a police report. We called the embassy to try and sort it out but nothing happened.
After getting a flat in my car and having spent 6 and a half hours on the ukraine boarder having my car stripped down a few days before we ended up driving the 2000 miles back from costancia to norwich in one sitting.
This makes me thing, how many of you out there bother with insurance with your gear?
Its been asked and some say yes …some say no!
I have my stuff contained in my house hold insurance…
