yes he has his own headphones ‘to sell to you’, but doesnt ever seem to actually USE them. I may even be wrong about him, but this is because over here is Europe we think it is pretty comical what dance music has become stateside, eg. EDM. All the worst excesses of stadium rock wanking and posing sucking up adulation from lost teens that need some ‘rockstar’ figure to love and be groupies to is EVERYTHING that dance music was NOT, and in many quarters in Europe and the world is still NOT. That is not to say some of the greatest ‘true’ DJs of all time aren’t from the US, cause they are! But this current Guetta/Aoki/etc led EDM scene seems to have very little to do with the dancefloor, and is all about huge egos, feeding off of teenagers misplaced affections.
you know the thing that strikes me most is that they call it “electronic DANCE music” yet everytime i see videos of those events i see people facing a stage either stationary with their hands in the air or jumping in one place with their hands in the air.
