Thoughts on DJ name?

I originally enjoyed D’Stridium but have since grown tired and it doesn’t feel fluid. I have been thinking about El3m3nt-X. Any thoughts? my real name is Dillon Burns, although most friends just call me D. Burns.

Oh yeah, El3m3nt-X has WAY more flow than D-Stridium. You sould use “DJay S+r1d1um” <-flow.

They are both awful. D’Stridium sounds like a medicine to cure the shits, and El3m3nt-X sounds like the sort of name some spotty, virgin, Haribo-munching wannabe hacker would give themself.

Your actual name, on the other hand, is pretty good.

yup… El3m3nt-X sounds like the name of a script kiddie who hopes to grow up to be a hacker one day… D. Burns. sounds cooler than that. personally i quite like D’Stridium if u say it like DeeStridium - sounds kind of scientific…

Clostridium botulinum :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

fantastic! catchy and means… “rod-shaped bacterium that produces several toxins” it’s so perfect i could cry. off to register the domain name now…

haha obviously I’m studying micro right now. Sorry OP not really adding to your thread. Just go with your real name buddy

BTW D’Stridium is actually an atomically/nuclear powered engine theoretically capable of long distance space travel.

So you guys think DJ D.Burns is choice as it is. I guess it is kind of catchy but it takes the imagination out of things IMO. I mean everyone calls me D.Burns anyways lol. I’ve re-thought element-x and it does suck/is gay thank you for steering me clear of that path. haha

Well I know that d’strontium causes asynchronous neurotransmitter vesicle fusion… probably not to helpful through.

I agree that your actual name is a lot better than the names you’ve been thinking about. You could always just make up a 2nd component to your name - “Dillon ______,” and use that as your stage name.

That’s where a lot of DJ names come from - nicknames from friends.

100% though - NO LEETSPEAK IN YOUR DJ NAME. Deadmau5 and R3hab are the only producers/DJs I can think of off the top of my head use leetspeak in their names, and they’re by far the exceptions to the rule that it’s a bad idea. I see no actual benefit to having leetspeak in your name: either people get it, think you copied Deadmau5/R3hab, and think you’re a tool for using it, or people don’t get it and have no idea how to pronounce your name (Deadmau-five). It’s a lose-lose situation.

Straight up answer! Thanks keeb. And now for the lolz

Unfortunately, the name doesn’t make me think ‘trans dimensional particle theory’, but rather ‘better pack some for Glastonbury in case I eat a dodgy quorn burger’. Having DJ in your name is also completely lame. How about Mr Burns?

edit. nope, there is already a ‘Mr Burns’

I vote for Mr. Burns.

maybe DA BURN? sorta using you’re real name, but just different enough.

How do you expect to advertise that kind of name? “El3m3nt-X” is very difficult to remember…let alone type into google. I’d choose a name that’s easier for people to remember and search you up.

My recommendation: use your real name or perhaps your initials. Easy to remember, simple, nothing fancy. Also shows some professionalism, “El3m3nt-X” sounds like a 14 year old kid who just discovered dubstep (no offense ).

Again I am glad I was steered away from that name. No offense taken it seemed kinda cool at first but I’m starting to really feel D. Burns as it feels natural to be called that anyways.

Go for Dillan the Villain!

Or maybe not haha.
