@JesC , there was an awesome TV program on British TV this week all about the Synth Pop movement in UK.
Started with the first Kraftwerk UK shows and interviewed all the bands that were influenced by them and charted the timeline of single releases of bands like The Human League, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire etc and then obviously Depeche Mode.
Showed loads of early footage and interviews with all the members including Vince Clark during and after he was in the band.
Its still on BBC iPlayer if you can get that where you live.
Might be on YouTube. Ill look at my iPlayer and see what it was called.
