Thrift store/used bin finds
I’m fond of hitting up the thrift stores and used bins in the record shops for great deals. Today was a particularly good day, especially with the Stax records dual disc for $5 and Kurtis Blow for $1

Wow, that Shure just caught attention as soon as I laid my eyes upon the picture.
Even better that it works great.
My eye went to the device right above the Microphone. I’m sure it’s one of those spinning devices they use on CSI to determine molecular constitution of crime scene debris.

PS 2 weeks ago I found a nearly mint copy of the Best of Donna Summer on vinyl for .50 cents. I Feel Love
Not really a thrift store, but I was up late refreshing craigslist looking for DJ gear when an ad for two SL-1200 MK2’s + Vestax PCV-275 Mixer popped up for $250 bucks.
Didn’t even hesitate to call the guy at like 2:00 in the morning.
Did you get it? That’s nuts. I’d pick that up in a heart beat!
I’m driving out tonight to pick them up. I’ll let everyone know how it goes.
Even if they’re wonky, they’ll be better than the Numark tt1520’s i’m using now.

In all seriousness the best find for me was a few years ago. me and the mrs were out for day and we ended up at this little village that had a church record/book fair.
I ended up with 3 records for £1. An album called big wheels of motown, A mint copy of Thriller.
The mrs put her foot down tho and ended up with a london boys album:eek:

I’ve got 2 shoeboxes full of them to digitize, along with 4 records boxes of vinyl. There always seems to be something a hell of a lot more interesting to do though.
