…****. The club I work in had Tiesto in the main arena last night. His demands were no laughing gas, shots, or basically anything are allowed be sold during his set… no dancers, no smoke machines.. he basically wanted everyone’s attention while he was on. He got paid around 70 grand for 2 hours and demanded that no one can sell shit while he’s playing. For 70 grand I’d expect a DJ to be able to grab people’s attention no matter what was going on on the dance floor. Twat!
He’s def worth 70,000-any club/venue he plays at can charge significantly more and they are basically guaranteed to sell out. I know he played recently in NJ and as far as I know the concessions were open the whole time. no sanctioned laughing gas though.
Mallorca… laughing gas gets sold everywhere, in all the bars and clubs. And Ibiza and Cancoon, and a shit load of other places. I think its a rip off tho. 5 euros for a 30 second buzz!? Fuck off! Gimme the crack pipe any day!
The club is normally 25 euro with a free bar all night. They were charging 40-60 euros (depending on advance sales or on the door), and you had to pay 1 euro for drinks while Tiesto was on. Worth it if the club sells out yes… but if the clubs sells out anyway at regular prices with other DJ’s the profit margin is the same.
Personally I dont think it’s worth it. If he was a badass DJ then cool, but 70 grand for some pretentious prick to mix one track into another and prance about like a faggot in between tracks? Suck my dick! Gimme Scratch Perverts any day (I should have gone to Ibiza)! Krafty Kuts killed it when he was here.
But still, the place packed out so I guess he was worth it.
it’s annoying that there was a bit of a crack down on laughing gas in uk, or a big spotlight for a bit it seemed. fat profit margin on that stuff, even at £1 a pop
