I am testing out a non NI controller with TSP2 for something I am working on. I am getting “Scratch Disabled” in the scope panel and nothing is being picked up by Traktor in terms of a signal from the deck. It looks like everything is set up correctly so I wondered if NI puts a limitation on using timecode on a non-S4 controller given that I have the S4 upgrade version installed?
You need to have a certified mixer/soundcard selected in the audio preferences. You can use a different controller but you still need to rely on one of their soundcards.
Regarding a “way”, think that got patched with 1.2.5 and it was a windows only thing. Yes, there is a thread on the forums.
No there is no limitation. Timecode will work as long as you have the relevant soundcard (you know the ones). You just have to select it in the wizard but, even then it should work without using the wizard when the soundcard is selected in Prefs and you are in External mixing mode.
Are you in External mode or have you selected Internal cus you using a midi controller. Thats quite a common mistake when switching back to a different midi device.
As for “the way” yeah that was patched out in 1.2.3 and the “other way” was patched out in 1.2.5.
If there is a new way with 2.0 id be very interested in hearing it
