looks and sounds a tad tricky. but I think ill have it covered.
I mapped my mates set up and he has 2 1D’s.
But it was in an older version of traktor ages ago - I had to change the midi channel on one of them, which you do just once when you power it up - tells you how in the manual.
But I think with the newer versions of traktor you just do like that tutorial.
By the way - 2 1D’s works really well - he has a xone 62 and traktor scratch - so uses the jogs for browser selection, the top encoders for fx and the smaller buttons for loops / cues - nice set-up.
okay so I need to just make sure each XONE:1D is set to transmit on different MIDI channels.
REF:
1d midi channel 1
1d midi channel 2-10
Correct?
If I don’t get this new S4 I think it’ll be two some combination of 1D’s, X1’s and a Denon DNX1600.
Im really digging the midi set ups. I mean last night I had 3 guys over and we mixed on the 1200’s from 5pm to 12am. Not one time did I say I missed mixing records. Midi controllers are taking out a lot of work digging threw record crates and having to cue records, ect.
Yeah thats how it was in traktor 1.1 but I think in the latest versions you have both your 1D’s in the controller manager list - never done it that way though ![]()
@photojojo - I was gonna go for the S4 as well, but I think now I’m gonna get 2 of the new Denon DNSC2000’s and a proper mixer as well for my home set up.
Keep my vci for ease of portability.
Agreed - I got my fist turntables in 1990 and always hated the thought of digital dj’ing when it came along - but now I love it ![]()
I kept catching myself thinking about how easy it is to set a loop to extend a track so it would break correctly for the next track to begin. I was catching myself running out of tracks. But it was still a fun get together.
