HI last night I was adjusting the touch sensor dial on my regular vci-100 and it snapped off. Does anyone knnow where I coul get a replacement for this. The dial has EO1 or 103 written on it, depending which way you look I guess. cheers for the help. anj
yeah- Vestax has been having problems with those lately. Be careful with your sensor knobs! Let me see if we can order some from them to send out to people with this problem. Subscribe to this thread if you are interested.
I’m currently having the same issue. Too bad for me, i can’t measure the trimpots properly because both are broken I get “default” resistance values now and i need the variable resistance range in order to replace them properly.
As for the code “103”, this should mean that they are 10000 Ohm or 10 kOhm.
I also contacted Vestax to get some technical information about these components, lets wait and see and hope for the best
Same Here.
Just received my VCI 100 and the ‘touch sensor level’ knob broken.
Given the reactions at this forum, it looks like Vestax has a Quality issue on these pots. Has anyone complained with Vestax already…and had a response (e.g. will they send out pots to customers for replacement…would be cheaper then a recall).
Same issue here, a while ago the left wheels touch sensor knob fell off. I found a potentiometer of similar resisitance to the original and soldered it in, with some very unexpected results. Somehow now the cross fader curve knob now acts as the touch sensor control aswell as cross curve. Tbh this isnt a prob for me as I only use slow fades and dont scratch. Still though vestax need to up their build quality with this part.
10 000 Ohm or 10 kOhm is the same off course (k for kilo )
Anyway, I did not get a reply from Vestax.
I’m currently very busy, so i didn’t have the time to look into it further. But I sure will as soon as i get some exact tech details about the components before replacing them myself. I’ll post an update in this thread when I do, but don’t expect (time) miracles
The sensitivity switch (Touch Sensor Level) at the back of my vci has snapped off, I have not forced or stressed the switch. (labelled EO1).
The problem is i am not getting any control using that jog wheel now, how can I resolve this issue? I looks like a solder joint that hold the whole thing together. This is an issue I can’t afford right now as have a New club opening to do next week.
How can this be resolved?
and where can I get a replacement, is it easy enought to fix?
I’m waiting on the firmware update & overlay so maybe fix the lot while I have the case off? Soldering etc is not a strong point of mine
Arghhh! this has really stressed me out now, i’ve had issue after issue TSP and now this!
cheers dude, vestax got back to me with just their website I sent them a general email, but will get on this. I got my vci from ebay though, only a few weeks ago and its in mint condition, will this effect things I wonder.
Vestax is aware of the situation and are fixing the problem. In the meantime we are going to request some replacements to send to people with this issue.
As I posted earlier, one of my adjustment pots broke too, within 2 or 3 adjustments.
Fortunately, the dutch representative of Vestax (URS) fixed my VCI within days.
Although only one was broken, they replaced both trimpots (Sensor Level adj.)by some high quality pots. These pots feel much more robust.
I’ve requested URS to forward me the exact brand and Part Number, so I could share it with you guys. They have not shared it with me (yet), but I’ll ask again this week.
You do not want to replace your crappy pots by the same crappy pots, so as soon as I get this information, I’ll share it with you guys.
I still think it’s a bad call from Vestax to save a few cents on the Sensor Level adjustment and put in cheap pots on the VCI-100’s…but I’m satisfied with the great support from ToneControl and URS for handling my claim.
