Just bought touchable 2 after reading the awesome reviews here and elsewhere around the interwebz.
Unfortunately, I’ve been having a hell of a time getting the touchable app to establish and maintain a connection with the touchable server and ableton on my laptop. Sometimes the app won’t even find the server to connect to, and on the occasions where it does, the app will control fine for a bit, and then quickly degrade to the point where ableton doesn’t respond to the touchable app control.
My question is, has anyone had similar connection issues with touchable 2, and if so, how did you go about solving them?
I have a similar issue when using an ad hoc connection with my Mac running OSX Lion and my 4th gen IPad. I tried using my home network instead and it works nicely now. I plan to experiment a little more later this week… So far I don’t think it’s going to suit my needs 100% because I’m forced to use a router at the moment, but let’s see what happens.
Is the screen set to go off after a certain amount of time?? I find that once the screen goes off it loses the connection to the touchable server, and I have to restart the server software to get it to see it again.
Unfortunately, I’m already on my home network. Couldn’t get the ad-hoc network thing, nor bluetooth to work, and support recommended aainst ad-hoc anyway.
BTW, I didn’t mention, but my laptop is windows 7, so the mac tricks don’t seem to work so well.
I just gotta chime in and say I have it working on a Macbook Pro and it works flawlessly - often I can have it wake up from sleep and reconnect to a different set that has been opened in the meantime - ad hoc network or otherwise it works pretty awesomely.
Sorry to hear you’re having problems - just my two-penneths..
