TPro2 Proof of concept: Beatsynced sequenced events such as auto loop rolls!

Ahoy there maties. Yet another Traktor thread. Hopefully a bit different from the normal though…

I’ve decided to make the ultimate Maschine controller template for Traktor. It is going to make the S4 look like the obsolete old-skool throwback that it will be when my template is finished:

Any suggestion for cool shit to include are very welcome by the way.

Anyway, to get back on-topic, today I proofed the below concept on TPro2. I think I saw this ages ago used to make some lights blink sequentially to the beat. However this can be taken further:

Beatsynced sequenced events such as auto loop rolls!

You can get Traktor modifiers to show the number of beats and bars from a certain action (say hitting the ‘loop roll’ button). Then you can have Traktor start the beatmasher with ever decreasing lengths over up to 64 beats (using 3 modifiers as below) before turning itself off.

This could be a sick, sick feature.

Yes, I’m aware that the video doesn’t actually ‘do that much’. The cool sounding stuff will come later…

sick! I think…

Definitely intrigued…

Here’s another video, it shows tempo synced LEDs in action.

It also shows the pad mode momentary/lock system for my ..deus ex machine.. mapping

i wanna see more. How did you mapp this?

when the lights went throught the 4 bar phrase patter i actually let out an audible ooooooooo

it appears flashing lights still amuse me :smiley:

good project tho man

Think this could work with a well mapped Launchpad?

very intrigued, considering buying a maschine at some point…

@dvls… I don’t see why not
@denisps2… I hope to have a video of it actually doing something with the music soon. If I ever get the logic worked out in my head in a way I can explain then I’ll do a tutorial, if not then there will be a maschine .tsi file to explore and unpick
@djaerodynamiteeeeeee… cheers

subscribing to see what happens here…

@djaerodynamite everyone loves flashing lights whether they admit it or not :stuck_out_tongue:

Let me know if you need a hand, Lethal :slight_smile:

@Dvls… thanks mate

Here’s another video with a basic autoroll implementation: the sequence logic and beat phase source timing needs some work, but the fundamentals are there:

No hands! (Apart from triggering the loop and a bit of pointless filter)

Is this being achieved with just a mapping alone? can you post any of your work I would love to pick thru it. I understand if you don’t want to also.

haha yea deffo , flash lights and blue led’s theres not much cooler !

dude, you got to spill the beans on how you did that!!

I tried something similar but my aging laptop didnt like all the controller traffic and started stuttering the audio in a typical cpu overload cant even have manners enough to keep time with the music way. With a launchpad. A new laptop is on the wish list anyway as mine
isnt up to spec for T2

This looks pretty damn awesome. Similar to setting up follow actions for dummy clips in Live. TSP2 is looking EVEN MORE attractive to me now… :rage:

i have been looking to justify the purchase of maschine lol

i know im being a har ass, but can you just tell me the basic logic of the counting first.

from what i understand lest say, a buton trigers the count. on the first modifier that just goues 0,1, 0,1 0,1 0,1.. , ewery time it gets on 1 it adds 1 to the second modifier. and so on. what trigers the first modifier and on what contitions? what im curios is how the 0, 1 on the lowest modifier works, so what makes it go 0,1 on a stedy base?
and how are the beatphaze monitor is mapped?

@bartboy… just a mapping in Traktor. I’ll post mappings up when I’ve got the mapping to the state when I can DJ with it!
@BradCee… I’ll get more info to you when my head stops spinning and I’ve watched Shalke stuff United
@Quiggers… older versions of Traktor had buggy LED output which caused havoc. It seems to be fixed in 2.0.1
@chrisw… I bought it to produce! Looks like imma gonna have my head in mappings for a while now!
