Tracks not Starting at 00:00:000

Hi there all,

Quick question, I’m starting to notice that when i Import tracks into Traktor and Rekordbox they are not starting at 00:00:000. Instead they’ll start at like 00:00:500 or such. Is there a way to move the start marker in either program? SO the track starts at 00:00:000?

Yes, in Traktor: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/983/

In Rekordbox you can’t set the beginning to other position, but you can easly set a Hot Cue or a Memory Point for that downbeat position, so you will be able to access it on the CDJ very quick.

What’s wrong with tracks not starting at 00:00:000?

I mean, I couldn’t care less at what time my tracks start, as long as they start on a point that makes sense, e.g. the first downbeat.

That’s probably what rekordbox and traktor do anyways: remove the silence at the beginning of the track and let it start where the sound actually starts.

If you REALLY want the tracks to start at 00:00:000 Ableton Live is always there to make any editing possible

The only reason I can see them not being imported into traktor right at 0000000000 is because the downbeat or first beat it can find isn’t on the 000000000
