Trade in S4 for Xone 1D and Mixer?

So like the title says i was wondering what opinions I might get from the DJTT community about selling my barely used S4 and just getting two A&H Xone 1d’s and the Pioneer DJM 800 (found one for about 1000).
on the same subject I was wondering if i would have to make some custom mapping for the 1ds in traktor or if it would work well together?

honestly its not a bad deal as long as you can keep your software. DJM 800 go for as much as a new s4. With the two 1ds thats just icing on the cake. I would go for it.

Why 1D? For the jogs? The jogs are “eh” and aren’t touch sensitive. Also, the buttons are tiny and supposedly don’t feel great.

Forget 1Ds, X1s are a lot better the 1Ds are outdated. If you don’t want X1s then get K2s. But to answer your question I think X1s or K2s with an external mixer is a lot better than an S4.

Well Im also wondering as too what alternatives there are to the 1D? like other one channel controllers?

If you really want jogs to go with the DJM then look at the reloop contour controller edition or the denon sc2000 as mentioned by keeb, I’ve seen both on here for like around 150 or less, new might be a little expensive though. If you don’t necessarily care about jog wheels then definitely the x1 or k2.

IMO if it’s between the 1d and x1 I would go for the 1d.

I have owned both and even tho the 1d don’t have led feedback I have big love for that controller and it’s built like a tank.

How about the reloop contour interface edition? 5 channel sound case. control over 4decks and touch sensitive jog wheel. led feed back and are now less the £150 new. It’s kinda like a cross between the 3 previous controllers mentioned. I’ve just got one and impressed with it.

The xone 1d is so well built. There is no other similar controller that feels like it. I think I still have my custom mapping. If you buy them send me a pm. It had full controll on 3 fx unit , 2 decks with cue , play , 8 cue points , loops , browsing… :slight_smile:

For the price of the DJM + 1D’s would you not think about a 4d ?

I’ve owned a 4D, I’ve owned a bunch of 1Ds… Yes they are built well and are built like the UK Xone 92s. That doesn’t mean they are worth buying over what’s out now. The buttons suck compared to what’s out now and are not very tactile, forget about LED feedback, and the jog wheel is mostly useless and a waste of space. Much better off with a Xone: K2 which is much improved or an NI X1. I got rid of my 1Ds and 4D a while back to switch to X1s because they feel so much better. Debating going to K2s now.
